Rata Afrika’s handcrafted Alpaca throws are made from 100% organic, carded Alpaca fiber, spun and woven by local women in Clocolan, South Africa. This collaboration empowers the community, providing financial independence and preserving an ancient craft. Each throw is a unique piece of artistry, crafted with care and passion, while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Fairview Estates offers you an endless canvass of wide-open skies, majestic sandstone mountains and rolling hills. Being a working farm, you are constantly surrounded by unusual sounds and farm activities. Enjoy our Bonsmara cattle, Alpacas and Appaloosa horses, We offer three different, unique styles of self-catering accommodation options: The Twin Towers, Damn Caravan and The De Rust Farm cottage. There is something for everyone.

Rata Afrika
The journey of Rata Afrika(Love Afrika) began with our beloved mother, Ina Boshoff, who fell deeply in love with the gently and intelligent Alpaca, during a visit to South America. Her passion for these majestic creatures was so contagious that the Boshoff Family welcomed their first 12 Alpacas into their lives in 2001.
Today over a 160 alpacas roam free on our farm Fairview Estates, nestled between the breathtaking sandstone cliffs between Clarens and Fouriesburg in South Africa.
